Jean-Michel de Waele, former Vice-Rector and former Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences at the Université Libre de Bruxelles, currently a Professor in the Department of Political Science and a renowned researcher of regional parties, visited the Institute for Regional Studies on December 3.
The occasion for his visit was the “Regional and Ethnoregional Parties in Europe and Beyond” international conference, which the Université Libre de Bruxelles is co-organizing with our Institute on December 4–5 in Pécs, at the Institute for Regional Studies.
The meeting was attended by Viktor Varjú, Director of the Institute, Ilona Pálné Kovács, Head of the Governance Research Group, and Balázs Brucker, political scientist, member of the research group, and one of the conference organizers. The meeting also covered future cooperation opportunities between the Institute and the University of Brussels, with particular emphasis on the research of regional parties and municipal diplomacy.
